Tour Plan
Morning
After the check-in process, Heritage Line welcomes passengers to the 4-day Mekong River cruise with a local expert lecture before sailing towards the Vietnamese border.
Afternoon
The rest of the day is an ideal time for yourself. You can slowly experience all cruise services from massages, and sunbathing on terrace deck sunbeds, to private balcony kick-backs.
While the captain shares stories about the river, a culinary workshop is also open for those interested in Khmer gastronomy.Â
As you enjoy afternoon tea, you approach the border and arrive in Vietnam.
Evening
It is just a short distance from Tan Chau, a pleasant border town with a large Chinese, Kinh, and Khmer community. The cruise moors near the city with riverbank views.
Morning
After breakfast onboard, begin a visit to Tan Chau, where the ‘Xe Loi’ driver takes you on a ride through the town's vibrant streets, workshops, and houses. You can also interact with the local vendors and try your hand at bargaining.
Continue to visit Cao Dai Temple and hear about the out-of-the-world beliefs and customs. You might only admire the architecture from the outside.
Next, head to a floating fish farm operated by a local family. The floating structures have netting hanging down into the water to enclose the fish, which are raised and fed daily.
As the ship sails forward Sa Dec, you will have a chance to hear a presentation about the Mekong Delta life after lunch.
Afternoon
The tour continues to My An Hung Village, where you will have the opportunity to get a deep insight into the private household of a local family and their seasonal cultivation.
You will be invited to their house for a Vietnamese tea tasting, and a presentation of fresh fruits growing in the garden. You can snack on the "vitamin bombs" as an artist group performs a traditional dragon dance.
Evening
As the sun sets, the surrounding natural splendor provides the ideal backdrop for a riverside. You should gather with beverages and dance along with the crew.
Morning
Wake up by a Tai Chi class and a sumptuous breakfast. Then, you will board a local boat to Binh Thanh Island, where local craftsmen display traditional mat manufacturing and elderly couples sharing their profound knowledge of native life.
Afternoon
After lunch, the ship set sails to My Tho around the lush canal network by local boat, watching farmers work in the fields.
Evening
Back on board, our staff welcomes you to a farewell ceremony and some lighthearted moments before dinner, featuring music and Cambodian dance.
With a glass of wine from the open bar, you will have your meal aboard.
Morning
Take your final breakfast on board your floating house. We depart the ship and board a bus from My Tho to Saigon. The roadway is just around 70 kilometers long, and you'll arrive in Saigon by mid-morning.
At the last minute, we hope you had a pleasant experience during this amazing river excursion through the Mighty Mekong. Farewell and see you again!
