Day 1 Siem Reap – Stueng Trang – Kampong Cham – Angkor Ban

Morning

Guests will gather in the stateroom after embarking on the Jayavarman cruise and be provided by the crew with a briefing on the cabin’s facilities.

After spending some time settling in and exploring the accommodation, you can enjoy the prepared welcome lunch buffet, as well as listen to the safety and welcome briefing in the lobby by our cruise director.

Kick off the trip by heading southeast to Kampong Cham, a vital trade and transportation hub, which boasts well-maintained highways.

There is also Cheung Krok village, home of numerous skillful artisans who are capable of crafting a variety of handmade items including food, clothes, and daily goods.

We might pay a visit to the Bamboo bridge which just takes a few miles from the village. This bridge is famous because it has to be rebuilt annually to avoid high water season.

Afternoon

In the late afternoon, we delve into the welcome event at the bar on board. Enjoy canapés and prosecco with fellow travelers while the cruise just gradually floats on the flow of the Mekong Delta.

Evening

After dinner, the cruise crew prepares an entertainment activity: evening cinema which displays classic movies or documentaries.

Morning

Start your day by waking up early to marvel at the breathtaking scenery as the dawn breaks. followed by our daily Tai Chi class to enhance your health.

The Jayavarman ship prepares for passengers the opportunity to take part in an excursion with a culinary theme. You will learn how to make “Samlor Korko” with a former cruise chef.

We return our luxury ship again to head downstream again to Phnom Penh city.

Afternoon

Before we arrive at Cambodia’s capital, we halt at a small silk-weaving community at the confluence of the Tonle and Mekong Rivers named Prek Bangkong.

This village was also the former residence of the Royal family before they moved to the Royal Palace. Therefore, the skillfulness of them is undoubted. We will have the opportunity to closely observe and learn about this intricate silk production process.

We conclude this excursion by visiting the heritage house of H.E. Sam-El, once a famous architect for the royal family.

Depending on the season, we can even enjoy panoramic views of the vast floodplains and lush rice fields from a vantage point.

The cooking lesson is held again aboard the Heritage line Jayavarman. Today, we make “Nom Kruak”. “Nom” is a kind of cake made from white or brown rice,  ball-shaped. Nom Krok not only has a spiritual meaning but is also a beloved pre-dinner snack.
