Day 1 Huay Xai - Ban Houay Phalam - Kamu Village - Pakbeng

Morning

At 8:00, you will be greeted by our English-speaking guide at the Houay Xay immigration office (Lao border), where visa assistance will be provided. 

Once visas are secured, guests will board a shared transfer (minivan) to the slow boat pier for embarkation. During the transfer, our guide will present about the dos and don'ts in Laos, along with sharing some interesting facts about the country.

At 9:00, the cruise sets sail from Houay Xay, offering us the opportunity to relax and take in the scenic views along the way. 

Savoring a delicious Lao traditional lunch served on board.

Afternoon

Make a stop to visit a traditional Kamu village called Ban Houa Phalam. This small village, home to approximately 90 families, offers a glimpse into rural life in a remote area of Laos. 

Resume your journey by boarding the boat and proceeding to Pakbeng. Expect to arrive at Pakbeng before nightfall.

Evening

Upon arrival at your hotel, process with check-in procedures. Then take some time to explore the surrounding area at your own pace. 

Enjoy your overnight stay in your hotel in Pakbeng.

Note: We advise you to arrive at the Chiang Khong Thai immigration border by 7:30 to make sure to meet our guide on time. If you are already in Houay Xay, we will arrange a pick-up from your hotel between 9:00 and 9:30. The boat will depart from Houay Xay at the latest at 9:45.

Day 2 Pakbeng - Ban Baw village - Pak Ou Caves - Luang Prabang

Morning

Departure from Pakbeng at 8:00. While cruising, take in the stunning natural scenery and jungle surroundings. 

Our guide and crew will facilitate some brief onboard activities. 

Enjoy a traditional Lao lunch served on board. 

Afternoon

Our first stop will be at Ban Mouang village. Witness the traditional process of making Lao Lao whiskey, a local specialty. Do not miss the opportunity to taste a sample.

The second stop is the Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting), home to over two thousand Buddha statues and considered a significant pilgrimage site for the Lao people. Take a moment for quiet contemplation and reflection amidst the tranquil atmosphere of the caves. 

After exploring, indulge in homemade desserts and drinks prepared in the morning. At 4:30 pm, the cruise arrives in Luang Prabang, marking the end of the journey. 

Note: Please note that the price does not include transfers from the boat pier to hotels in Luang Prabang.
