Day 1 Hanoi motorcycle tour - Phu Yen (Son La)

Morning/ Afternoon 

You’ll start your trip by meeting your guide and fellow adventurers at the designated spot for an important briefing on the journey ahead.

Get on your bike and head for Phu Yen in Son La Province,  which is a lovely and tranquil natural picture. The 160-kilometer ride will take you through the stunning scenery of the northern region, with cornfields, rice fields, and forests seemingly endless stretches of forest are some images that come to mind when people think of the high mountains in the Pacific Northwest.

After the long ride, you’ll have a well-deserved break to enjoy lunch and recharge before continuing on to the town of Phu Yen.

Night

Spending a night in Phu Yen town and enjoying a meal with the locals is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Day 2 Phu Yen - To Than Uyen (Lai Chau)

Morning

Waking up early to start your day with a satisfying breakfast at the hotel is a great way to fuel up for the ride ahead.

As you proceed down OL.37, you’ll approach the Lung Lo Pass, a site steeped in history and natural beauty. Recognized as a national historical relic in 2011, the pass stretches for 15 kilometers and is known for its significant role during the war, where it served as a crucial route for soldiers and supplies.

As you ride, you’ll be surrounded by the majestic nature of the region, with forests that unveil their beauty along the way.

Remember to take a break and enjoy lunch. It’s important to stay energized and hydrated, especially when tackling such an adventurous route.

Afternoon

Take the QL.32, and you might get some of the most excellent pictures of the scenery, including Mam Xoi Hill and the terraced paddy fields of Mu Cang Chai. The terraced fields of Mu Cang Chai are architectural works of art loaded with imagination and created by the skilled hands of the Mong people who live in this area. These fields resemble the fingerprints of heaven.

We may get to Than Uyen town in Lai Chau province around 17:00. Let’s meet the locals, and share some stories with them to realize their hospitality.

Delight in a supper including delicacies prepared with fresh local ingredients. Spend the night in a hotel in Than Uyen.

Day 3 Than Uyen - Sapa (Lao Cai) - Sapa motorcycle ride H’mong villages

Morning

Get your breakfast then you ride to Sapa, a famous tourist destination with spectacular views of mountains and terraced fields. You will pass by some tea plantations and ethnic villages on the way. 

The first challenge is crossing the O Quy Ho pass, one of the four great passes in Vietnam, and enjoying the panoramic view of Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina.

Afternoon

After having a tasty lunch, your guide will guide you to arrive in Sapa and check in at your hotel. You can have some free time to relax or explore the town. 

You should visit the Sapa Church, the Sapa Market, or the Ham Rong Mountain for panoramic views of the town and its surroundings. 

As a result, you also have a chance to ride to some H’mong villages, such as Cat Cat, Ta Van, or Lao Chai, and interact with the local people and learn about their culture and customs.

Night

Have your dinner at a local restaurant and enjoy the nightlife of Sapa. Let’s join some optional activities, such as watching a cultural show or visiting a night market.

Day 4 Sapa - Bac Ha (Lao Cai) - Motorcycles tour to some hill tribe villages

Morning

Spend the day in the Tay-ethnic and tribal town of Bac Ha. Despite being less noisy and crowded than Sapa, the Bac Ha plateau dazzles visitors with its unspoiled beauty and preserved cultural traditions. 

This area is home to several breathtaking views and the "white forest" beauty that is infused with natural Northwest highlands traits like dreamy, beautiful mountains, and hospitable ethnic people.

If you come here on a weekend, you're in luck since that's when the well-known market is held. Only open on Sundays, the market draws tourists and tribal people from many regions who come to barter various goods.

Explore the settlements of some of the hill tribes on your own, and sample some native cuisine.

Afternoon

This afternoon is your free time and you can explore Bac Ha on your own.

You can visit some of its attractions, such as the Bac Ha Market, which is an interesting place to see various goods and products sold by different ethnic groups

The Hoang A Tuong Palace, where you can learn about the history of the H’mong King; and the Ban Pho Village, which is a good destination for you to taste some corn wine and smoked buffalo meat.

In the evening, relax with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night in a homestay at a stilt house.

Day 5 Bac Ha - Ha Giang city

Morning

It’s time to say goodbye to your host family and continue your motorbike tour to Ha Giang City, the capital of Ha Giang province, and the gateway to Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. You will drive along some challenging roads and enjoy the views of mountains and forests. 

During your journey, have lunch at a local restaurant in Xi Man, then drive to the Hoang Su Phi terraced rice fields for a photo opportunity. 

Afternoon

Let’s move to Ha Giang City and check in at your hotel. Get your free time to relax or explore the city.

You can visit some nearby attractions, such as the Quyet Tien Market, where you can see some local products and handicrafts; or the Thanh Thuy Border Gate, which will make you surprised by its Friendship Bridge that connects Vietnam and China.

Complete your journey by having dinner at a local restaurant and enjoying the nightlife of Ha Giang City.

Day 6 Ha Giang - Dong Van (Ha Giang)

Morning

Start your day with an early breakfast at your hotel in Ha Giang before checking out.

Your first destination is Quan Ba to see the iconic Quan Ba twin mountains, also known as the Fairy Breast Mountains. This natural wonder is steeped in local legend and offers a stunning view near the entrance to Dong Van town.

Enjoy a local lunch in Tam Son Town, which is nestled in the heart of the picturesque Quan Ba district.

After lunch, continue to the Ma Pi Leng pass. This pass is part of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark and is known for its breathtaking views. At an altitude of about 1,500 meters, it’s one of the most famous passes in Vietnam, offering spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

From the top of Ma Pi Leng, you’ll have a panoramic view of the entire Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Global Geopark. The plateau is renowned for its impressive limestone formations, deep canyons, and significant geological diversity.

The journey also includes the Nho Que River, a stunning river that flows through a deep chasm with emerald-colored waters.

Afternoon

As you make your way to the town of Dong Van from the pass, continue down the winding route until you reach the Vuong family's residential palace, where you can learn about the history and culture in the house of H’mong King.

Finish your day with dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night in a hotel in Dong Van.

Day 7 Dong Van - Ba Be national park

Morning

After finishing your breakfast, depart from the accommodation. The Lo Lo, the Dao, the Giay, the Mong, the Tay, the Kinh, the Nung, etc. are just a few of the numerous ethnic groups who live side by side in Meo Vac.

Enjoy lunch in the Meo Vac district's center.

Afternoon

Till you get to Ba Be National Park, keep riding. One of the national parks in the world, Ba Be has the biggest proportion of special-use forests and limestone regions, as well as the world's highest primary forest coverage.

The Ba Be Lake region contains the largest diversity of freshwater systems in Vietnam's protected area, with 106 fish species, including numerous rare species. It is home to several beautiful caverns.

After that, you need to board a boat supplied by the community and cross the reservoir of the Na Hang Hydra Power plant to get to the village next to the Dau Dang waterfall.

Night

You will have dinner with your host family and enjoy local music and dance. Overnight in Ba Be National Park.

Day 8 Ba Be Lake - Hanoi

Morning

After breakfast, say goodbye to your host family and start the tour back to Hanoi. You will drive along some scenic roads and see some rice fields and orchards along the way. 

Have lunch at a local restaurant on the way among the clean and beautiful scenery and atmosphere.

Afternoon

You start arriving in Hanoi and returning your motorbike to the designated spot. You can connect your onward flight or extend your stay in Vietnam with our other packages.
