Day 1 Luang Prabang Arrival

When you reach the airport, our guide and driver will transport you to your accommodation in Luang Prabang for check-in (Check-in time will be available at noon as normal).

You can take a walk about the city to get a feel for it as there are no organized activities today.

Day 2 Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave Exploration

Morning

Kick off an exciting day with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum - the last residence of Lao royalty.

We travel aboard a leisure cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which brings us the moment to be amazed by the marvelous sight of the countryside. Continue heading to the Pak Ou Caves - a limestone cave that holds a vital religious site in Luang Prabang. 

Break the journey on Ban Xanghai, the village where they make local rice wine. On the trip back to the city, we will make a stop at the ancient temple Wat Sene and the nearby Wat Xiengthong, well known for a mosaic of the Tree of Life on the rear temple wall. 

If there is time, we can go off the beaten track to visit Ban Xangkhong, the Thai Lue village, which is renowned for its handicrafts.

Visit Ban Xienglek, a town known for producing authentic Saa paper. You may travel to the next village, or if you have the chance, join a petanque game with the locals.

Afternoon

Drop by Wat Prabath, which is the ideal place to be gripped by the twilight. After visiting the Night Market, where you can discover a great selection of handcrafted textiles made by local and hill tribal people living in the region of Luang Prabang, we call it a day.

Day 3 Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfall - Butterflies Park

Morning

Getting up at the crack of dawn, tourists will prepare to join the daily morning almsgiving - the most sacred transition of Laos.

We will drop by the early-morning market close to the former Royal Palace, where you can find everything from grains to seafood.

Don’t forget to seize the opportunity to conquer Phousi Hill's 329 steps for a breathtaking sight of the city and the Mekong River.

We then will move up to the marvelous Kuang Si - the biggest waterfall in Luang Prabang.

Visitors will take chances off the beaten track with the neighboring village of Ban Thapene to explore the hidden waterfalls.

You are welcome to pay a quick visit to the Bear Rescue Center, which is home to a few dozen creatures that were saved from poachers and traffickers.

Afternoon

You may head to the neighboring Butterflies Park to enjoy tea and handmade cookies while unwinding in the lush teeming with vibrant butterflies.

We will pay a visit to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where weavers, spinners, and makers produce top-quality fabrics, offering free tours every half-hour. Additionally, this is among the top places in Luang Prabang to see the sunset.

Transfer back to the hotel. Have an overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

Day 4 Luang Prabang - Train to Vang Vieng - Ban Thaheua

Morning

We will take the one-hour train to Vang Vieng. Then, tourists are welcome to visit the Tham Jang cave, which was utilized to stave off Chinese invaders in the early 19th century.

Lastly, the "sea of Laos," Nam Ngum Lake, will be our view when we spend the night at the magnificent resort in the adjacent Ban Theua.

Day 5 Ban Thaheua - Vientiane

Morning

Optional: Rouse yourself early from sleep because you would not want to miss the serene sunrise over the peaceful lake. Tourists will be escorted to the nearby area to watch the locals preparing for the day.

After breakfast, you are free to go for a leisurely stroll about the resort and the nearby village.

Afternoon

We will travel back to Vientiane. During the trip, we visit the Dong Makkhai Market, where several hill tribes congregate to exchange goods and purchase supplies. 

Tourists arrive in Vientiane and check in at the hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight in Vientiane

Day 6 Vientiane - Buddha Park

Morning

We will kick off the day with a trip to Wat Si Muang - the most spiritual temple in Laos.

Travel to Buddha Park also known as Xieng Khuan, a fascinating park with more than 200 statues of Buddhist and Hindu deities.

Visit the non-profit Lao Disable Women Development Center, which is managed by Lao women with disabilities. Visitors can support them by buying some souvenirs at the shop.

Afternoon

Visit That Luang, which is one of the biggest temples in Lao, was constructed in the 16th century. After that, you will catch sight of the magnificent view over the city when you go to the top of Patuxai, Vientiane’s "Arc de Triomphe".

Continue along Lane Xang Avenue to the tranquil Wat Sisaket, which is renowned for having a variety of Buddha sculptures made of diverse materials.

Go to Wat Phra Keo to observe a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art.

Call it a day at the banks of the Mekong River to enjoy the twilight or grab a snack from local food stalls.

NOTE:

  • Check out Sinouk Coffee Pavilion for a cup of delectable and distinctive coffee or tea, a stroll through the miniature coffee gallery, and a look at the on-site coffee roaster. Discuss with the tour guide about this. Entrance fees and extra coffee /drinks are payable on the spot.
  • You can choose to visit Ban Hom to see the farmers at work in the fields and gain an understanding of rural life there. Only 12 km away from the old quarter. Extra mileage: US $15 /car

Day 7 Vientiane Departure

Morning

Before taking the departure flight to the next destination, you are free to walk around at your leisure.
