Tour Plan
Upon your arrival in Luang Prabang, the tour guide and driver will be waiting to provide transport to your hotel for check-in.
After checking in and enjoying your free time at the hotel, we will start our exploration with a tour to the Royal Palace Museum, designed in the French Beaux-Arts style with many tasteful accents of traditional Lao culture. Then visit Wat Mai, a unique temple with five-storey architecture with splendor overlaid red-tiled roof from the 18th century.
In case time permits, a slight visit to the city center to catch a glimpse of the local people’s daily life.
In the late afternoon, the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic view from the top of Mount Phousi. In the distance, the blue jungle-clad mountains rise above the peaceful rivers and breathtaking sunsets are the best you’ll ever see.
Next, you will have a great chance to join a private Baci Ceremony, one the most ubiquitous traditions in Laos culture. Visitors will be blessed with good karma, relax in the tranquil temple and reflect on the rich culture of Laos. After that, you can have an intimate dinner with a local family.
Begin your day in Luang Prabang with a cultural immersion, waking up between 05:30 - 06:30 to take part in the revered alms-giving ceremony. Interact with monks as you offer food, engaging in this sacred tradition. Following the ceremony, explore the vibrant morning market, brimming with fresh produce, local delicacies, and authentic Laotian flavors.
After a satisfying breakfast, visit the historic Wat Sene, Luang Prabang's oldest temple, before embarking on a journey to the Pak Ou Caves. These caves house a remarkable collection of Buddha statues spanning different centuries and materials, perched on a rocky cliff overlooking the Mekong River.
En route, discover the village of Ban Muang Keo, renowned for producing Lao-lao, the local moonshine rice wine. On the return to Luang Prabang, marvel at the captivating architecture of Wat Xiengthong, an iconic symbol of Laos' rich history, culture, and spirituality. Conclude your day at the Traditional Art and Ethnology Center, offering insight into the diverse ethnic groups that shape Laos' cultural tapestry (closed on Mondays).
After the tour, we come back to the hotel and relax.
Today's energetic tour starts at 8:00.
In Laos, rice is a key component of the diet, it is served with practically every meal. Outside of Luang Prabang, a community-based living rice farm offers an incredible time experiencing how rice is made, from plowing the field with the water buffalo, to planting, to harvesting, to separating the rice from husk, to cooking. If you wish, you can have a chance to tour the nearby organic garden to enrich your knowledge about traditional Laotian organic medicine and cuisine.
Continue then with a drive through the Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls. Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfall, enjoy the fabulous natural surroundings or explore the dense jungle on foot. For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls via a steep track where beautiful views await. Besides, this is a perfect place for a swim with incredible blue waters and numerous jumping points.
We will also take a short visit to the Bear Rescue Center, an excellent center that cares for a large population of wild Asiatic Moon bears confiscated from poachers.
Before getting back to Luang Prabang, tourists will stop by the Living Crafts Center. Set in lush tropical gardens and located on the banks of the Mekong, the Living Crafts Center is the perfect place to learn more about the fascinating world of Lao textiles.
After the tour, we will come back to the hotel.
After having breakfast, you will have a half-day schedule which makes a meaningful experience for you to interact with elephants in a humane environment at Elephant Village.
At 8:00 the tour guide will pick you up and transfer to the elephant village.
On arrival, we are welcomed and greeted by the village’s tour guide and participate in a short briefing about elephants. Next, visitors will get a chance to get up close and personal with elephants. Then you can visit the village's elephant hospital, museum, gallery and dung paper making facility.
After that, a traditional Lao long boat cruise will be set off to the Tad Sae Waterfall, a spectacular natural wonder you can enjoy during the wet season in Luang Prabang.
Tourists will have a meal at Elephant Camp restaurant. Your buffet lunch is served with coffee/tea and drinking water (Vegetarian options are available).
The Elephant Village allows tourists to explore until 13:00. After that, we transfer directly to the nearby Lao Spirit Resort, located on the banks of Nam Kham River, with fully furnished private traditional villas overlooking rolling hills and mountains.
This morning, tourists visit Vang Vieng by train. Within 1 hour of moving, visitors can admire the gorgeous view at the highest peak of the area.
Upon arrival, we transfer to the cave of Tham Jang, the most famous cave of Vang Vieng. This place used to be the shelter of the local people to hide from the invasions of the northern forces.
Then, transfer to the hotel in Ban Tha Heua.
Following your morning meal at the hotel, we set off on a relaxed cruise by kayaking for 2 hours around Nam Ngum to the nearby islets.
In the afternoon, visitors will visit Vientiane. Located on the banks of the Mekong River, Vientiane is a city with serene temples and stupas standing alongside bustling markets and modern infrastructure.
Upon arrival, you have free time to relax and explore the charming Vientiane on your own.
After breakfast, tourists will visit Wat Si Muang. The temple's intricate exterior showcases classic Laotian design, with ornate carvings and delicate details that reflect the country's historical heritage.
After visiting Wat Si Muang, arrive at Buddha Park, tourists can marvel at the fascinating fusion of religious iconography and artistic expression, a popular destination for couples intrigued by cultural exploration. This strange park, sometimes called Xieng Khuang, has over 200 Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, which a Lao shaman made in 1958, stand in stark contrast to the serene and quiet surroundings along the Mekong River.
Begin the afternoon tour exploring Wat Sisaket and Wat Phra Keo. Despite facing multiple destructions, particularly during conflicts, those two temples have persevered due to the enduring vitality of its Buddha statues, now standing as Laos' most cherished treasure.
On the way to That Luang Stupa, tourists can stop by to enjoy the panoramic view of the imposing Patuxai, which is well known as Vientiane’s own “Arc de Triomphe”.
After that, you are free at leisure for the whole evening.
After breakfast, transport will be provided to the airport for the flight to Paske.
Upon arrival, we depart for the Bolaven plateau. The cool climate and fertile soil make it an excellent place for high-quality coffee production, attracting both agriculture enthusiasts and travelers interested in local coffee culture.
Visit Tad Lo waterfalls, a stunning collection of three distinct falls, as your first stop. Tad Hang and Tad Lo can both be seen in the distance from the bridge. Another 10 kilometers upriver is Tad Suong, the most spectacular of the three.
After that, tourists will drive to Ban Houay Houn, where you experience the warm hospitality of the locals and gain insights into the cultural heritage of the region.
We continue our journey through the Paksong. Arriving at Paksong, you can immediately feel this local specialty when the smell of coffee in the space along the town.
After the tour, we come back to the hotel to relax.
After breakfast, the guide and driver will be waiting at 8:30 to provide transport to Champasak. Along the way, we will have a chance to enjoy the scenery around Tad Fane waterfall, which is famous for its impressive twin cascades creating a stunning visual spectacle.
Upon arrival, make a visit to Wat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and showcase the architectural and cultural achievements of the Khmer civilization. Wat Phou is often considered a precursor to the renowned Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and its well-preserved ruins offer insights into the religious practices and architectural prowess of the Khmer people back to the 5th century.
After your visit, pass through the small town of Champasak, where French colonial buildings offer a great contrast to Wat Phou.
Free for the rest of the day in Done Khong.
After having breakfast at the hotel, board a private longtail boat for the Mekong River cruise to the peaceful villages of Ban Khone, nestled in the 4000 Islands region of Laos. It’s recommended to explore Ban Khone either by bicycle or tuktuk.
Next, pay a visit to the impressive Liphi waterfall, a peaceful and enchanting spot, where the Mekong River flows through a series of rock formations, creating a picturesque and soothing landscape.
We return to the mainland at the fishing village of Ban Nakasang and drive further south to visit Khone Phapheng. Khone Phapheng is often referred to as the "Niagara of Asia" due to its incredible size and the sheer volume of water that flows through it. Visitors have the opportunity to witness the sheer power and beauty of nature as you admire the roaring waters and the picturesque landscape surrounding the falls.
Overnight in Champasak.
Have breakfast at the hotel. You are free to stroll around the town for your own exploration before taking the departure flight.
