Day 1 Luang Prabang Arrival - City Tour

Morning

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. After a short break, the first leg of the journey will begin with a visit to Wat Xiengthong. It is a superb piece of Lao Temple architecture, famous for the gorgeous painting "Tree of Life" which is a mosaic on the wall.

If time allows, we will have a brief walk around the small streets of the city center to watch the local lifestyle. We will visit the Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era.

Afternoon

We climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred stupa and glance at the significant sunset view.

The welcome dinner will be served at the local restaurant with traditional dance & folk songs.

We will call it a day after a trip to the Night Market, where you can find some unique handmade crafts made by the locals.

Day 2 Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave Full Day

Morning

We will wake up at the crack of dawn to join the most sacred traditional ceremony of Laos, which is the daily morning almsgiving. From there, we will depart to the nearby morning market near the former Royal Palace to experience the flavor of local life. 

After breakfast, we head to Wat Sene, which is one of the oldest temples in the city. We take on a leisurely cruise upstream on the Mekong River before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. It is a 16th-century cave monastery filled with thousands of Buddha images. 

On the way, tourists will stop at Ban Muang Keo, a well-known village for its traditional Lao rice whisky distilling.

Before we get back to Luang Prabang, we will break the journey to learn about Laos’ ethnic cultures at the Traditional Art and Ethnology Center (closed on Monday).

Day 3 Luang Prabang – Rice Experience – Kuang Si Waterfalls

Morning 

We will start the day by heading out for a morning at a community-based living rice farm in the idyllic countryside outside Luang Prabang. Take a chance to try your hand at various farm activities or observe them from a traditional Lao rice house balcony. 

You'll have time to check out nearby workshops where local bamboo weavers, blacksmiths, and sugar cane processors practice their crafts. Then, we will take a tour of the organic garden to learn how natural herbs are used in traditional medicine.

Lunch will be served on the terrace overlooking the rice field

Afternoon

Later on, we will travel to the impressive Kuang Si Waterfall, the largest in the Luang Prabang region, where you may take in the breathtaking scenery and cool, clear water.

Tourists can also visit animals that were saved from hunters and traffickers at the Bear Rescue Center.

We will visit Ock Pop Tok Living Craft Center to learn more over the entire trip about the origins, advancement, and craftsmanship of Lao textiles and handicrafts.
