Next, we journey to Bayon Temple at the city’s center, a 12th-century masterpiece renowned for its 39 towers with enigmatic faces looking out toward the far-flung provinces of the Great Khmer Empire.

The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are also must-visits as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs. Navigate the former Royal Palace grounds to uncover hidden, rarely visited temples.

Our exploration continues to Ta Prohm, famous for its appearance in the 'Tomb Raider' movie. Alternatively, visit Preah Khan temple, a larger complex left in ruins, providing a more intimate experience.

From here, embark on a 30-minute ox cart ride to a local market. Take a brief stroll through this bustling center, acquainting yourself with Cambodian produce.

Follow a 1 km walk through the picturesque countryside village, engaging with the local community along the way, such as rice planting, weaving thatch roofs, planting or harvesting vegetable crops, making fish traps, etc.

Each tour will provide a unique experience depending on the time of the year and local needs. The surrounding countryside with its paddy fields and sugar palm trees is very typical for Cambodia.

End the morning at the local pagoda where a special water blessing by Buddhist monks awaits.

A delicious lunch will be prepared for the family in one of the floating houses.
