The Cambodia Overview tour 6 days is made for discovering the heritage sites in Cambodia with National Museum, Silver Pagoda, Royal Palace, River Front Park, Wat Phnom, Toul Sleng Museum, Cheung Ek Killing Field, Phnom Penh Municipality Hall, Kampong Thom, Kampong Khleang Village, South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Angkor Temple and Tonle Sap Lake.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival
Today, the Cambodia Overview tour 6 days will be started by picking up at the airport to City on your arrival to hotel for check in (Check in at noon time). Free at leisure inside the city. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 2: Phnom Penh – Killing Field – City tour (Breakfast)
Today, after the breakfast at the hotel, we drive to visit the Independence Monument, was built in 1958 to memorialize Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953. Wat Phnom, it is the most significant of all the temples in Phnom Penh. Next visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda, located within the grounds of the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace of Cambodia is a complex of buildings although it is generally understood to be the royal abode of the King of Cambodia. Continue to visit Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21), this prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. If time permitted, visit the Central Market (Psar Thmei), a large market constructed in 1937 in the shape of a dome with four arms branching out into vast hallways with countless stalls of goods. The four wings of this gigantic yellow dome are teeming with stalls that sell goods ranging from gold and silver, antique coins, money exchange, books, flowers, food, fabrics, shoes, souvenirs, seafood and countless other products. Finally, return to hotel for overnight.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Kampong Thom (Breakfast)
Today, after the breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and then depart for Kampong Thom (165km-4 hour drives). On the way, we stop at Skun Market or well known as Spider Market to see villager selling many kids of fried Spiders, crickets, silkworms, frog and other insects as well as season fruits. Continue to Kampong Thom town where you’ll go to check in at hotel (room may ready at noon).
In the afternoon, drive another 35km to visit pre-angkorian temple, the new listed in UNESCO-world heritage site, Sambo Prei Kuk, the capital of the once powerful Empire of Chenla which predates the Khmer Angkor period. The site was once an old capital named Isanapura and a religious center for the worship of Shiva Brahmanism. Many temples were built in Sambo Preykuk during the reign of King Isanavarman I (AD 616- 635) in the 7th century. The temples of Sambo Preykuk constructed of solid brick, laterite and sandstone and decorated by bas-reliefs. The lintel, pillars and the door frames are all made of sandstone. So far, 140 temples have been discovered in the forest. Finally, return to hotel for overnight.

Day 4: Kampong Thom – Kampong Khleang – Siem Reap (Breakfast)
Today, after the breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and then take around 1.30 hour to Kampong Khleang, a floating village located on the northern lake-edge about 55 km east of Siem Reap town. This village can be accessed by boat (during Rainy Season) or drive direct by car in  Dry Season that start around January and finish by early July water leaves the village and the waterway slowly becomes a narrow canal). The remainder of time is spent on a boat navigating the Tonle Sap, visiting an ethnic Vietnamese floating village, and watching the sunset on the lake. Overnight in Siemreap.

Day 5: Siemreap – Angkor Thom – Angkor Wat temples (Breakfast)
At 08h15-8h30am,  after the breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to visit the jungle Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. The temple of Ta Prohm was once used as a location to film the famous Hollywood film Tomb Raider. Begin tour to the antique capital of Angkor Thom, start from the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Continue to explore Angkor Wat the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Last but not least, view a wonderful sunset from Angkor Wat or somewhere possible. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 6: Siemreap – Departure (Breakfast)
Today, after the breakfast at the hotel, we will be free at leisure. Check out at noon time and then drive to the airport for taking the departure flight. End the Cambodia Overview tour 6 days.
